Residency (Neyaba)

Training posts at university and Ministry of Health hospitals, usually in one unit for three to five years.

Zamaala (fellowship)

Zamaala is the Arabic word for fellowship. The national route is the Egyptian Fellowship; some ministry and university hospitals also run their own fellowship posts.

Master's degree (MSc)

The university postgraduate degree, often taken alongside residency.

Egyptian Fellowship

A national specialist training run by the Egyptian Health Council. You train in an accredited hospital, keep a logbook, and sit two exams. Open to Egyptians and, with different fees, to non-Egyptians.
